Is it POSSIBLE that we are living in HELL and just weren't aware?

everyday, every hour, every minute there are more murders, molestations, thefts, abuses being done and more and more persons performing the aforementioned actions. 2000 years have come and gone and the only thing that has changed in man is his efficiency in how to murder, torture and destroy... bigger and faster guns, chemical warfare, atomic and molecular interference to destroy and control and the minute level... are we not living in hell?
